The Night of Long Knives
I thought I would give this book a try. Honestly I’m not a lover of disaster
stories. In fact I would go as far as to
say I normally avoid books and films in this genre. But for some reason I could not take my eyes
off this book. It made a spark with me
and I just had to read it.
To start with, hand on heart, I really didn’t give it what
it deserved, I did a quick flick through and it had long chapters, so this book
automatically deflated me. But, and I shall
add another BUT!
How wrong was I?
This book is more than a disaster book.
Yes its apocalypso and yes it’s not really my thing, but I really
enjoyed it. The characters evolved, and
as they evolved I fell in love with them, I was cheering them on wanting then
to make it. I loved how they moulded
together, they was they gelled. The
story was more than I expected, It had so many twists but in a good way. Every time I was getting complaisant, it was
flipped keeping the story fresh and me engrossed.
It had feels of sci-fi and Lust and terror, but it didn’t
take long for me to be there with them.
I really enjoyed it and I would read this book again.
4 out
of 5 stars.
